Becoming a Stratagem IIS Client
The process begins with a business owner completing a â€˜Client Instruction Formâ€™
This is a simple form that can be completed in a matter of minutes, authorising us to carry out initial research to establish the eligibility for an R&D claim.
Once the Client Instruction Form is completed, the business owner is assigned a personal Case Manager who will provide you support throughout the claim process and help gather all the documentation needed prior to an audit taking place.
Upon receiving all the relevant documentation a Research & Development Specialist willÂ visit yourÂ company. The Specialist collects all of the information and photographic evidence required to substantiate the comprehensive R&D report.
The Specialistâ€™s role is to identify all of the R&D qualifying areas within the businesses. This information is then rigorously analysed by an experienced Report Writer. After thisÂ a report is produced in a format accepted by HMRC and submitted.
The final step is for the client to receive the initial tax benefit and client also benefit from further reductions to their tax liability going forward.
Our aim is to deliver an efficient, quality service without taking up valuable client time. As such, we aim to keep client involvement to a minimum, but to ensure maximum return.

Financial Risk Analysis
Initial financial assessment carried to ensure R&D opportunities will be realised for the client before audits commence.
Technical Project Analysis
Upon receiving all the relevant documentation, we will arrange for a Research & Development specialist to visit the company.
Report Build & Review
The specialistâ€™s role is to identify all of the R&D qualifying areas within the businesses. The information is then rigorously analysed by an experienced Report Writer.
Engagement with HRMC
The specialist engages with HRMC to ensure methodology and approach is compliant, prior to final submission of the R&D Tax credit application.
Submission of Final Report to HRMC
Report is refined and produced in a compliant format which will be accepted by HMRC and then submitted.
